Effective Date: 6/30/2025
This Privacy Policy describes how lensless ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you use our software as a service (the "Service").
We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. When you visit our software as a service and use our products, you trust us with your personal information. We take your privacy very seriously. In this Privacy Policy, we seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it.
This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through our software as a service, as well as any related services, sales, marketing, or events.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully as it will help you understand what we do with the information we collect.
lensless can act as a data controller, a data processor (sometimes called an “operator”), or—quite often—both at the same time, depending on what part of the service we’re talking about.
Flow Info / Privacy link that appears next to the run button on every Flow page.Data Processing Addendum (DPA). GDPR Article 28 and Brazil’s LGPD require a written contract when a processor handles personal data on a controller’s behalf. Our standard DPA—including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses—is automatically incorporated into the lensless Terms of Service; no separate signature is required, though an executable copy is available in your account settings if you need it for compliance records.
If you are still unsure which role applies to a particular dataset or use case, please e-mail support@lensless.io and we’ll be happy to clarify.
To help explain things as clearly as possible in this Privacy Policy, every time any of these terms are referenced, they are strictly defined as:
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.
We also use cookies and similar tracking technologies; you can manage your preferences through the Cookie Banner displayed when you first visit the site.
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). lensless uses the collected data for various purposes:
For residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Brazil, we must tell you the legal ground on which we process your personal data. The same purposes also apply—in spirit—to U.S. state laws such as the CCPA/ CPRA.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced those interests against your rights and concluded they do not override your interests or fundamental freedoms. You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest at any time (see §11).
lensless will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
lensless will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.
What you upload. When you upload images, prompts, or any other content (“User Content”) to run a Flow or training job, we store it in an encrypted S3 bucket located in the US.
Model checkpoints. For Flows, checkpoints are automatically deleted 7 days after the run completes. For trainings started in the dashboard, checkpoints are retained for 30 days unless you choose a longer plan.
Inferences. For Flows, inferences are automatically deleted 7 days after the run completes. For generations started in the dashboard, inferences are retained for 30 days unless you choose a longer plan.
Datasets. For Flows, datasets are automatically deleted 7 days after the run completes. For datasets created through the dashboard, datasets are stored until the creator deletes them.
Other flow artifacts. All flow artifacts are retained for 7 days so users can access them. After 7 days, they are deleted.
No platform reuse. We do not use your User Content or derived models to train or improve any lensless-wide model unless you give us explicit consent (opt-in toggle in the dashboard).
Early deletion. Dashboard users can delete any of their checkpoints, inferences, datasets, or flow artifacts at any time from the dashboard. Deletion propagates from hot storage within minutes and from backups within 30 days.
For orders involving physical goods, we retain your shipping and billing information, including your name, address, and contact details, as necessary to fulfill your order, process returns, manage warranty claims, and comply with tax, legal, and regulatory obligations.
